SOWING SEEDS
The word "seed" is a great picture of our Lord. The word of God, which is in itself a seed, tells us that all the nations of the earth are blessed in the "seed" of Abraham; that Christ came of the "seed" of David. And that we are born again, not of corruptible "seed" but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.
This is also a great picture of the work that is taking place in Niger. Our friends, Yacouba and Renate, are in Niger as a "seed" – a kernel of grain – to bring the light of God to that nation. (Look at Isaiah 49:6 for insight into the mission of Jesus beyond the borders of Israel).
Much of the work in Niger centers around "seeds."
Ministry congregations and a prison ministry designed to give the "seed of hope" to people in desperate need.
A rice field, established to provide food for the people and a little income to the ministry.
The Hospital at Kollo has been now opened since February 2009 and is a"seed" for the health of new born babies, young children and birthing mothers.
Two grinding machines, set up to bring relief to the village women so they can grind their "seeds" without having to travel far.
The land that the government donated to H.I.S. is the first "seed" for a school that will produce much seed in the future.
The land we purchased is a "seed" planted in a strategic place to reach many people in the neighboring villages.
The medicines given at the mobile clinics are "seeds" and appreciated by the villagers.
The goats are also "seeds", that keep babies alive during the most critical time of their lives physically.
This mission, in Niger, West Africa, is a seed as well for all of Africa. We are beginning here, but God is looking beyond, with a heart that is inclined toward the people there. Longing to bring them to Himself.
As you sow your seed for missions, we thank you for remembering this ministry. We ask you to tell others and let the seed multiply. Those will be "seeds" that will produce for years to come. And that income will produce more "seeds" for multiplying the kingdom of God.
